Black Orpheus by Kathleen Packlick – Signed on the back along with the title and date completed. This nearly monochrome oil on board work repeats the use of almost imperceptible circles and rings, black on black in the background, that govern the shape and sizes of the light color grid elements. Overlaying and intertwined with this is a shaded, smokey, rope structure woven into the grid. It brings to mind the subtle mathematical structure underlying
the classical music or, perhaps, a trip into the underworld.
Kathleen Packlick – A well known contemporary artist took her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1972 and her Master of Fine Arts at The School of the Art Institute in Chicago in 1976.
